The commissioning of medium-speed high-shear emulsifiers usually takes 2-4 hours, including 6 key steps. The qualification criteria for each step are clear to ensure that the equipment meets the production requirements:
  1. Idle test (30 minutes): Start each motor (homogenizing motor, frame paddle motor, wall-scraping motor, vacuum pump motor) separately, and observe the operation status. Qualification criteria: No abnormal noise (noise ≤ 75 dB), small vibration (vibration ≤ 0.1 mm/s), correct rotation direction (consistent with the direction marked on the motor), and stable speed (speed fluctuation ≤ 5 rpm).
  2. Vacuum test (20 minutes): Close the tank cover tightly, start the vacuum pump, and monitor the vacuum degree change through the digital vacuum gauge. Qualification criteria: The vacuum degree can reach ≤ -0.098 MPa within 5 minutes, and the pressure drop within 10 minutes is ≤ 0.002 MPa (no air leakage in the tank body and pipeline).
  3. Temperature control test (60 minutes): Inject 50% of the effective volume of clean water into the tank, set the heating temperature to 80℃, and keep it warm for 30 minutes. Then set the cooling rate to 8℃/h and cool it to 25℃. Qualification criteria: The temperature fluctuation during heat preservation is ≤ ±0.5℃, and the actual cooling rate is consistent with the set value (error ≤ ±1℃/h).
  4. Homogenization & mixing test (60 minutes): Inject 50% of the effective volume of simulated material (clean water + 0.5% CMC, viscosity similar to medium-viscosity lotion) into the tank, start the homogenizing system and mixing system, and run for 30 minutes. Qualification criteria: The material is evenly mixed (no obvious stratification or agglomeration), the wall-scraping paddle can completely scrape off the material on the tank wall (no material adhesion), and the particle size of the simulated material after homogenization is ≤ 2 μm (detected by a particle size analyzer).
  5. CIP cleaning test (40 minutes): Run the full CIP cleaning process (pre-rinsing for 5 minutes, detergent cleaning for 15 minutes, rinsing for 10 minutes, hot air drying for 10 minutes). Qualification criteria: The 360° rotating nozzles operate normally (no jamming), the cleaning liquid covers all material-contacting parts (no cleaning dead corners), and the conductivity of the tank inner wall after drying is ≤ 10 μS/cm (no detergent or water residue).
  6. Product simulation test (30 minutes): Use small-batch raw materials (consistent with the actual production formula) to simulate the production process, and check the quality of the finished product. Qualification criteria: The product has a fine texture, no bubbles, no stratification, and meets the pre-set product quality standards (such as viscosity, particle size, and stability).
Only when all 6 steps meet the qualification criteria can the equipment be put into formal production. If any step is unqualified, it is necessary to check and adjust the equipment (such as tightening the sealing ring for air leakage, calibrating the temperature sensor for temperature fluctuation) until it meets the requirements.
