What are the key operational precautions for shear mixing emulsifiers?

To ensure safe operation and product quality, the following precautions should be noted:
  • Material Feeding: Feed materials in the correct sequence (usually add the continuous phase first, then the dispersed phase) to avoid overloading the equipment. Do not start the emulsifier when the tank is empty (dry running) to prevent damage to the rotor-stator and seal.
  • Speed Regulation: Adjust the rotational speed gradually from low to high according to material viscosity. For high-viscosity materials, start at low speed (3000-5000 rpm) to avoid motor overload, then increase the speed to the required level.
  • Temperature Monitoring: Real-time monitor the material temperature during operation. For heat-sensitive materials, strictly control the temperature within the set range to avoid material degradation.
  • Pressure Control: For closed tanks or vacuum systems, do not exceed the rated pressure (usually -0.1 MPa to 0.6 MPa) to prevent tank deformation or leakage.
  • Operator Protection: Wear protective equipment (gloves, goggles) during operation. Do not open the tank cover or touch the rotor-stator during equipment operation.
